We hold our Anniversary Services on Monday 1st April. This day will be the 221 years since the Chapel first opened.
How different it must have been back then. Many hearers would have walked from the village in Stone or possibly from Appledore. There would also have been horses and carts parked outside of the chapel. Inside the chapel all the seats would be full of people coming to listen to the word of God. Whole families from grandparents to young children would sit quietly during the sermon from a visiting minister. Because the chapel was so full of people the children would often sit on the student benches which would have been put down the aisle. One of these benches in still at the chapel in the vestry.
Nowadays, some 200 years later it would be a little different, but one thing never changes and that is the Word of God.
The times of the services on Easter Monday are 3pm and 6pm. There will be a some refreshments between the service times.
